As a result, the Finance Committee recommended to the Board that we make a contribution of $50,000 to some worthy project. Faced with this strong financial news and understanding the needs of our partner, Naples Botanical Garden, the NGC Board voted to donate $50,000 to the building of Naples Botanical Garden’s Horticulture Campus this year and $25,000 in each of the next two years.
Catherine Ware and her late husband Tim have been staunch supporters of the Botanical Garden since its inception and also of Naples Garden Club. As a testament to their belief in both organizations, Catherine will match this year’s Naples Garden Club contribution of $50,000 to Naples Botanical Garden for the Horticulture Campus. Catherine will also match every gift from a member of Naples Garden Club before June 1, 2019 up to a total of $50,000.
You may give donations, small or large, as individuals to the Naples Botanical Garden Horticulture Campus. Your donation will be matched. It is possible, from our donations, that we could have a naming opportunity for some aspect of the Horticulture Campus. That is why we are combining our personal and club donations together and why it is important to coordinate with our Treasurer, Eliza Nevin.
Eliza Nevin will gather all donations and present them to Naples Botanical Garden. You can mail your donation to her at 257 Barefoot Beach Boulevard, #601, Bonita Springs, FL 34134 before June 1, 2019. Please make the check out to Naples Botanical Garden and indicate in the memo line: Catherine Ware match/NGC. You may also send your check directly to Naples Botanical Garden.
The Board wants to thank all of our membership for your hard work, dedication and generosity that has provided us with this opportunity. Especially, a big thank you to Catherine for her generosity and all the support she has given the Club and the Garden over the years.
Be proud. Together, we will help, in a small way, to maintain the biodiversity of this planet through this partnership of Naples Garden Club and Naples Botanical Garden.
