We will tour two exotic Fort Lauderdale Gardens. Flamingo Gardens will be our first stop. See a touch of Florida history with 60 acres of lush gardens showcasing rare exotic and native plants. We will tour the gardens by tram and then have time to focus on your special interest. Spend some time in advance on the website so you are prepared. A box lunch will be served.
Our second stop will be at Jesse Durko’s Nursery. We will start with a brief tour/orientation of the acreage. This is a work in progress over 20 years as Jesse has collected plants from all over the world, including Australia, Africa and Brazil. Some of these are brand new to cultivation. The nursery is one of the most diverse in the nation.
His personal garden is one of the best rated in Florida. The artwork is also stunning and reflects his impressionist tropical garden style. Jesse has promised a special discount to our group.
Spend advance time on both websites to educate yourself so you can use free time wisely. There will be space for purchases in the bus bulk area. Dress for comfort and walking. Bring your water.
