The Farm is a new grass roots organization that addresses food insecurities in Collier County by establishing habitat and cultivating over 100 varieties of fruits, vegetables, herbs, and trees. The staff offers educational programs with hands-on activities about farming, horticulture, and food systems to people of all ages. Funds will be used to plant specific pollinator plants that support the trees and bushes planted in rows by continent in their Food Forest area, approximately 1 acre of the 5-acre farm. Programs will be designed to teach the children who visit the Farm about sustainable gardening and an awareness of the importance of pollinators for food production and self-sufficiency.
