The Buzz on Pollinators: Beed, sutterflies, and Beyone

Date: March 10, 2021
Time: 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM

Location:
Naples Botanical Garden

Guests Allowed? NO

Without pollination the human race and all of Earths terrestrial ecosystems would not survive.  Over 80% of the world’s flowering plants require a pollinator–and plants bring us countless fruits, vegetables, and nuts as well as half the world’s oils, fibers, and raw materials.   They prevent soil erosion, provide habitat to wildlife, and increase carbon sequestration.  Pollination is an essential ecological function, although it is nearly invisible, and pollinators are increasingly in jeopardy due to a number of factors.  In this program, learn about the wide world of pollinators — it’s a lot more than honeybees and monarchs– and find out what you can do to support diverse pollinator populations.  You’ll leave with a sense of wonder and appreciation for the diversity of plan and pollinator relationships…and you might just want to plant more plants!

This group will meet at the entry to the Naples Botanical Garden and we will proceed from there into the Gardens.
