February General Meeting: Margot Shaw, Founder/Editor-in-Chief, Flower Magazine

Once a self-confessed “call and order flowers girl,” Margot Shaw reached a watershed moment when planning her daughter’s wedding. Working along side the floral and event designer, she recognized the artistry and inspiration involved in floral design and soon began apprenticing with the same designer. Unable to locate a publication that spoke to her passion, she set about creating one and launched Flower Magazine. Now in its 11the year, the magazine has grown to include features on homes, gardens, entertaining, and lifestyle.
“I find my inspiration almost everywhere — design books, flower shows, garden tours, travel in general, fashion, interior design, even music. I think the world of design is so interrelated, with all mediums feeding off each other. Our new slogan at “flower” is “flower as a verb” meaning, a lifestyle that flourishes…”
