The Naples Garden Club is delighted to welcome internationally acclaimed floral designer Ian Prosser for our General Membership Meeting on Monday, February 2 at 1:00 p.m. A true pioneer of modern floral design, Ian has spent more than five decades shaping the industry with extraordinary creativity, vision, and artistry.

Born in Scotland, Ian began his career at the age of sixteen and by the age of nineteen, he was the youngest recipient to be named “Floral Designer of the Year” in all of Scotland and earned the prestigious National Diploma of the Society of Floristry, the highest European honor in floral design. Ian owned three successful floral design shops in Glasgow before deciding to make the move “across the pond” to Tampa, Florida with his family.

Founded in 1989, Botanica Design Studio has been a beacon of innovation under Ian’s leadership. His work has earned national and international recognition, including serving as Design Chairperson for President George W. Bush’s second Presidential Inauguration, and designing for an impressive roster of clients such as Queen Elizabeth, President Clinton, Elton John, Tom Cruise, Donna Summer, and numerous sports figures and dignitaries—all while remaining deeply committed to serving the Tampa Bay community.

Ian’s list of accolades and achievements is extensive, reflecting his continued leadership and influence within the global floral industry. A highly decorated designer, he is a member of the American Institute of Floral Designers, the American Academy of Floriculture, and Professional Floral Communicators International. Ian has received numerous honors, most recently the prestigious Presidential Award from the Society of American Florists, as well as the Hall of Fame from Florida State Florists Association. His dedication to excellence and innovation has made him a trusted mentor and inspiration to floral professionals worldwide.

Today, Ian continues to push creative boundaries through Botanica, dedicated to truly transformative, high-concept events. Despite his global acclaim, Ian approaches every project with personal care and passion, making him not only one of the most sought-after floral designers in the world, but also a respected mentor and leader in the industry.
