Kathleen Hawryluk named her floral design “Quiet Bliss” but it may become better known as “Miss November” by NGC members. That’s the month you will find the photo of her design in the National Garden Club’s 2018 “Vision of Beauty” engagement calendar. “The calendar is a showcase for Floral Designs of its members, as well as a source of inspiration to all designers,” states Nancy Hargroves, President of National Garden Clubs, in the Calendar President’s Message.
It is quite an honor to have an arrangement featured in this calendar. Entries come from across America and around the world. Kathleen submitted a professional 5 X 7 photograph taken by John Jernigan of Ocala. Her design is in the Oriental Style and features Cheamaerops humilis (fan palm) and Crinum latiforlium (an Antherium obake). Kathleen notes that “The quality of the photo is as important as the beauty of the design.” National Garden Club members can submit entries using the form in the back of the calendar.
You can get a copy of the 2018 agenda calendar through the National Garden Club website: www.gardenclub.org.
Be sure to congratulate Kathleen on being a “Calendar Girl”.
