Joan Lewis – I feel so blessed to have two wonderful cities to call home, Chicago and Naples. In the summer and fall I’m busy giving architectural walking tours as a docent with Chicago Architectural Foundation. I am so energized by being in the city. My gardening in Chicago is limited to urban gardening with planters on our balconies. I also give architectural walking tours with the Naples Historical Society on a much smaller scale. I garden on a larger scale here in Naples and I love to be outdoors.
Margaret “Muggs” Dunn – “Gardening is cheaper than therapy and you get tomatoes” – author unknown. (Or in my case, I get hydrangeas and peonies in my Wisconsin garden.)
Debbie Vesole – I inherited my Mother’s love of beauty in art, fashion, home decor and the enjoyment of gardening. Through the years, I have been a member of several garden clubs including an African Violet Club, a Hosta Club and Tri City Garden Club where my garden was featured in their annual Garden Tour. Attending the Illinois State Garden Club meetings with a dear friend who was a National Garden Club treasurer was also a memorable experience.
I continue to serve on the Rock Island Beautification Commission to honor the gardening efforts of homeowners in our community.
In the past, I have met and learned from many wonderful, knowledgeable gardeners and floral arrangers and now I look forward to meeting the Naples Garden Club members to continue this very enjoyable experience.
