Idea Garden Happenings
Naples Garden Club’s Idea Garden Committee has been very busy over the long hot summer! With one year under our belt we are ready to hit the ground running with many facets of the Idea Garden program moving into place.
If you are visiting the Idea Garden the last week of October, look for the pumpkin adorned with succulents, the first of many Ideas à la Carte presentations. We hope you might be inspired to offer a 15 to 20 minute program of your own. Some topics we have scheduled include: Flower Arranging 101, Leaf Manipulation, Hooray for Bromeliads, Pollinators and Phalaenopsis Orchids. Sudie Minamyer (330-807-8533; sudie_min@yahoo.com) or Susan Kinkead (239-775-2968; s.kinkead@aol.com) would be glad to give you more information or help you choose a topic if you wish.
Our favorite gator, Irma, is excited to announce that she will welcome two new friends to the Idea Garden very soon! The Garden is being tidied up for their arrival, as is Irma. Stay tuned for more information or visit the Idea Garden yourself to view our progress.
The Ideas à la Carte presentations will be given on Wednesdays in the Idea Garden starting at 11:15, mid-December through mid-April. This is one way we can share our love of plants with the Community while we support Naples Botanical Garden. Stop by our table before the General Meeting in Kapnick Hall on October 29 to find out more.
And finally, just a reminder there are so many ways you can get involved in ‘our’ Idea Garden– the Ideas à la Carte presentations, Horticulture Assistants, Ambassadors and Member Plant Pots in the Idea Garden. Please look for the Sign up Genius tab on the NGC website member page to discover how easy it is to sign up.
