Are you interested in plants? Love detail? Like being involved with important projects? Then this is your chance to be part of something fabulous located right next door to our own NGC office.

The Herbarium of Southwestern Florida is a museum collection of approximately 40,000 pressed and dried plant specimens and they need our help.

Dr. George Wilder, Botanist and Curator of the Herbarium, is seeking two volunteers to help with his work. One volunteer would be gluing recently collected, dried plant specimens onto herbarium sheets.  Dr. Wilder and other individuals often join together on Sunday mornings to undertake this work. Another volunteer is needed to sew the plant specimens.  This work can be done weekly based on the volunteer’s availability.

If you are interested in either opportunity, please contact Jackie Coppard, NBG Volunteer Coordinator, at 239-325-1932.
