 Succulents are Simple to Use

Just like at an AA meeting, Laura Eubanks started the Feb. 6 General Membership Meeting saying, “Hi, my name is Laura and I’m addicted to succulents.” Then she proceeded to tell the audience why.

You can cut succulents up and move them around. You can cut off their roots and they will grow.

Exciting, Fun, Unforgettable . . . Our House and Garden Tour          

The House & Garden Tour on February 4 was a spectacular event. Over 850 attendees enjoyed delicious refreshments in the beautiful hospitality tent. Then a well-orchestrated bus trip brought them to 4 gorgeous houses staffed with warm and friendly hostesses, giving highlights of the homes.

NGC Grants Help Children in Need

The ability to work in a garden is an eye-opening experience for traumatized children. One of our NGC grant recipients is Youth Haven, southwest Florida’s residential emergency shelter for children, ages 6-17, who have been removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect or abandonment.

At Youth Haven, growing and nurturing plants is a therapeutic activity.

How Should We Spend Our Money?

Each year Naples Garden Club is faced with the same decision we all face personally … what to do with the money that remains after we budget for fixed expenses.   Members attending our January meeting helped prioritize how we spend our “discretionary” expenses by completing a short survey.

Programs were overwhelmingly number one for the 56 members. . .
