YES Roberto Rovira is Principal of Studio Roberto Rovira, Distinguished University Professor, Fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects, and former Chair of Landscape Architecture + Environmental and Urban Design at Florida International University. A registered landscape architect and U.S. Navy veteran with over 28 years of experience, his work spans urban parks, installations, public art, and cultural landscapes, including Rietveld Park in Aruba, Patch of Heaven Forest Reflections, the Boca Museum of Art, and FIU’s Sky Lounge, as well as his internationally recognized EcoAtlas project. Born and raised in Puerto Rico and Venezuela, he has won more than a dozen national and international competitions and received honors including the Architectural League Emerging Voice Award, Fast Company World Changing Ideas, AIA Miami Landscape Architect of the Year, and national and state ASLA awards. He is past President of the Landscape Architecture Foundation and has served on numerous South Florida civic boards, including as Chair of The Underline’s Design Advisory Board, and his work has been widely published and exhibited by Princeton Architectural Press, Routledge, TEDx, and Landscape Architecture Magazine. |
